Mexico's majestic Popocatepetl volcano erupted overnight, Wednesday, October 2, in a dramatic show of ash, smoke and gas.
Mexico's disaster relief body CENAPRED reported that 215 explosions were reported at Popocatepetl, with the strongest taking place in the early hours of Wednesday. A column of dark smoke reached 2 kilometers in the air.
