Thousands of Flamengo Fans Gather in Rio de Janeiro to Celebrate Win in Copa Libertadores Final
Thousands of Flamengo fans filled central Rio de Janeiro, Sunday, November 24, to celebrate the team's win over River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final.
Flying in from Peru, the team landed at Rio de Janeiro International Airport before heading off for a victory parade through the center of the city.
Gabriel Barbosa was Flamengo's hero in Saturday's final in Lima, canceling out Rafael Borre's opening goal in the 89th minute and scoring the winner in stoppage time, before getting sent off for two yellow cards in quick succession.
Flamengo was crowned champions of South America for a second time, having previously won the 1981 edition of the Copa Libertadores. (AP)
